Peerless fishing reel history
WebSep 7, 2010 · Penn stopped making the 49 few years ago but it is still a very popular reel for both salmon and halibut in SE Alaska. They stopped making the 149, 349 (which came in 3 versions) and 249 several years before that. Most parts for the 49 are still available from Penn but the prices have increased substantially. WebPENN PEERLESS NO. 9 CONVENTIONAL BAITCASTER FISHING REEL LEFT HANDED Penn Peerless No. 9 conventional fishing reel in excellent condition. We tested all the parts of this reel and all worked well including the handle. Drag, guide and release lever. This reel most likely had only light use if any. NOTE: This is a left-handed reel.

WebUp for auction are these two vintage Penn conventional reels. The larger one is a Penn 209. Numbers on the bottom of reel seat are 30-66 and the smaller one is a Penn Peerless#9, with the number on the bottom of reel seat are 30-109s. Both reels have bright chrome and are in excellent condition.
