Not the most desirable block, but certainly one the you can work with. A Ford P/N begins with 4 digits like: E0AE XXX X If the D3 C were the first 3 digits, the first 2 would indicate a 1973 part. WebJan 1, 2010 · For a '70 it shoud start with C9xxx = 69. or D7xxx = 70. Ford used letters for the decade - C= '60's, D = 70's, E= 80's, etc. and the next number was the casting year. I think you're going to have to pull the starter down to see the casting number on the ridge at the rear of the block just above the oil pan bolts to verify, be sure to write it ...
